This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
...and as you can see, it was a very long day. We started at about 12pm cause of St Nicholas day. First thing to do as we met at the set was to build up all the lights and the camera crane. But after that work was done it was really a great shoot.
The intention of the film we were making is (as you could see on the pictures) the war in Afghanistan were also German soldiers are involved. One of the actors wrote a poem about it and the idea of making a short film about it came up. As I was in Afghanistan for the German army about 2 years ago I could give a few tips about the uniforms, movement and locations. It was really a great experience to work with all these passionate guys.
Maybe some people think they're already know how the film would look like after they saw my shots, but let me say "You have no idea"
I'll submit the film when it is cutted and edited, which will need some time as there are some scenes which need to be shot first. I hope that we could arrange it within this week, but as we're all working during the week I couldn't promise anything. At least I hope the film will be done before Christmas.
Maybe I made you at least a bit curious with my pictures from the shooting.
I am here to ask you to think a little bit about his attitude in recent times. His gallery speaks for itself, so I don't need to mention the horrid watermark he puts in all his photos and how derivative they are; I'll let you be the judge of that yourself. I also won't talk about how he says "my friend" at least once in every single comment, that should be annoying enough for anybody to notice. What I would like you to think about is his attitude and how he treats its viewers. Not only does he hide comments left and write whenever people don't praise his "artworks", but he acts as if photographs casually taken of unprepared landscapes and scenery is any kind of "art". And no, photoshop filters don't count as art.
I ask for common sense, I ask you to reflect on the state of our community with people like him. I understand you may like some or all of his photos for your own personal reasons, but treating them like "art" is an insult to all the artists in the world (excluding myself, for obvious reasons). Uninspired, untalented, undecided and unprepared is all I can think of when I see his "work". Pictures of streets taken at head level without a tripod, no obvious knowledge of the rule of thirds or any kind of preparation. Burnt pictures without any kind of serious digital treatment. Photos of buildings that are not his to photograph much less to sell! Desperate shots of a cloudy skies, pretending to take the work of God and show it without any kind of serious presentation and sell it!
That's all I ask of you. Not to stop watching him, not to stop liking his uploads, not to stop being his friend or whatever. But to think and act like someone who respects and appreciate art. This is my call, so we can all make dA a better place.
P.S.: And if you're thinking of using his pieces for things of your own, DO NOT be fooled by his claims of copyright! His works are licensed under a Creative Commons license, so you may use it at will, as long as you refer him in your work. His claims of copyright, again, are only an attempt to prevent artists from using his stock photos for their own creative and rightful art.
